Khusro Bagh

Constructed in the 17th century, this garden is an exquisite example of Mughal architecture. It is known as the final resting place of Khusro Mirza. Within its walled garden are two sandstone tombs: one for Shah Begum, the wife of Jahangir, and the other for Nithar Begum, khusro’s sister

Allahabad Fort


Located near the confluence in Prayagraj, this fort was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1583.
Currently, only a small portion of the fort is open to tourists. The fort features three large galleries with tall towers and covers an area of 30,000 square feet. Akbar constructed this fort to suppress the Afghan rebellions in eastern India during the Mughal era. Inside the fort, one can find the Ashoka Pillar, Saraswati Kua, Jodha Bai Palace, Akshay Vat, and Patalpuri Temple

Swaraj Bhavan and Anand Bhavan

Swaraj Bhavan, formerly known as Anand Bhavan, is situated on the historic Church Road and was purchased by Pandit Motilal Nehru. In 1970, Indira Gandhi donated this house to the Government of India. Anand Bhavan now functions as a memorial museum, displaying an impressive collection of memorabilia that showcases the heritage of the Nehru family, including books, paintings, photographs, and personal items from bygone eras.
Swaraj Bhavan is open from 10 AM to 5:30 PM and remains closed every Monday. For inquiries, contact 0532- 2467674. Anand Bhavan is open from 10 AM to 6 PM from April to September and from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM from October to March, closing on Mondays and national holidays. Entrance fees for Anand Bhavan are 20 for the ground floor and exhibitions and ₹70 for both the ground and first floors along with exhibitions. For more information, contact 0532-2467096

Planetarium

Established in 1979 and located adjacent to Anand Bhavan in the Alanganj area of Prayagraj, Jawahar Planetarium was the residence of the Gandhi-Nehru family. This planetarium can accommodate over 80 people and hosts space and astronomical shows. An annual Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Lecture is also held here on November 14 to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister. The planetarium shows are conducted from 11 AM to 12 PM and from 4 PM onwards for visitors. The entry fee for the planetarium is ₹60

Senate Hall

Constructed between 1910-1915, Senate Hall was designed by Sir Swinton Jacob. The hall is adorned with a dome-like structure, featuring deep red balconies and jharokhas on the upper floors, as well as arches designed on the walls

Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court was relocated from Agra to Prayagraj in 1869. This magnificent building, completed in 1916, houses the largest courtroom for the Chief Justice among all the High Courts in India. It stands as one of Prayagraj’s most historic landmarks

Ulta Quila (Jhunsi)

Ulta Qila is an archaeological site located in the ancient city of Pratishthanpur (now Jhunsi), once the capital of the Chandravanshi kings (Lunar Dynasty). Carbon-14 dating has identified the site’s Neolithic layers to date back to 7100 BCE. It is believed that Pratishthanpur was originally founded by King lla, with the only remaining evidence of its existence being the high mounds visible today.
Excavations have revealed relics from the 6th century BCE and artifacts from five cultural phases ranging from the Chalcolithic to the Early Medieval periods

Gurudwara Pakki Sangat

Located in the Ahiyapur-Malviya Nagar area, this revered Gurudwara was built in memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s visit to the region. He came here in 1666 and stayed for several months.

Madan Mohan Malviya Park

Situated on the southern banks of the Yamuna River, Madan Mohan Malviya Park is centrally located within the city. In 1858, Lord Canning read Queen Victoria’s Proclamation here, marking the official transfer of control over India from the East India Company to the British Crown

Muir Central College


Muir Central College was established in 1866 in Prayagraj, which later evolved into Allahabad University. The college was named after Sir William Muir, the then-Governor of the United Provinces. The foundation stone of Muir College was laid on December 9, 1873, by Thomas George Baring, the First Earl of Northbrook.

Government Public Library/ Thornhill Mayne Memorial

Established in 1864, Mayne Memorial is one of India’s oldest libraries, housing approximately 125,000 books, including some rare manuscripts. The building is best known for its Scottish Baronial architectural style, designed by the famous British architect Richard Roskell Bayne. It served as the assembly when Prayagraj was the capital of the United Provinces. The library contains manuscripts of Shahnameh in Persian written by Ferdowsi, Upanishads translated by Shikoh, son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, and Raghuvansh Tika written in Sanskrit

All Saints Cathedral

All Saints Cathedral, also known as the Stone Church, is an Anglican cathedral located in Prayagraj, India. Designed in the Gothic style of 13th-century Europe, it is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture built by the British during their rule in India. The cathedral was designed by British architect Sir William Emerson, who also designed the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata, in 1871

Alfred Park and Victoria Memorial

The Victoria Memorial, located within Alfred Park, is an architectural masterpiece crafted from Italian limestone, showcasing a distinctive English Baroque style. It was commissioned in 1906 by James de Grey La Touche, an Irish civil servant in British India who spent much of his time in the northwestern provinces. A grand statue of Queen Victoria was originally placed here, but it was removed after independence.

Allahabad Museum

Situated within the serene Chandrashekhar Azad Park (Company Garden), Allahabad Museum is one of the few national-level museums in India. The foundation stone of the museum building was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on December 14, 1947. The museum houses a treasure trove of artifacts displayed in 16 galleries, including paintings, sculptures, coins, terracotta items, textiles, and specimens of natural history. Among the main attractions are Chandrashekhar Azad’s Colt pistol and the vehicle used for the Gandhi Smriti, a 1947 model V-8 Ford truck that was used to immerse Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes in the Triveni Sangam on February 12, 1948.
The terracotta collection at Allahabad Museum is considered one of the largest of its kind in the world, featuring the oldest terracotta pieces from the Indus Valley Civilization era.
